Byars|Wright Expands with New Department and Sixth Office!

Byars|Wright Insurance, a locally-owned independent insurance agency celebrating its 75-year-anniversary in 2021, recently announced the launch of their new Employee Benefits Department following the acquisition of Decatur-based Business to Business Solutions’ (B2B) employee benefits assets.

“Mergers and acquisitions are key components of our ongoing growth strategy,” said Haig Wright II, President of Byars|Wright. “This one in particular marks an important milestone for our agency, as we are establishing a new department focused solely on Employee Benefits Insurance.”

The purchase gives Byars|Wright access to several new markets and strategic partners, increasing the products and services offered. In addition, the agency welcomed two employee benefits specialists to their team.

Renee Wenzler, Producer and former COO of B2B, and Ella Blalock Traynom, Employee Benefits Account Manager, joined Byars|Wright. The agency believes Wenzler and Traynom are essential ingredients in leveraging the experience, expertise, and outstanding reputation of B2B’s employee benefits division.

“We’re proud to team up with Renee and Ella in this initiative and thrilled to be able to offer their expertise to our current and prospective customers,” said Gabe Clement, a Sales Team Manager and Branch Manager at Byars|Wright. “Fortifying our Employee Benefits Department will allow us to better serve our commercial insurance customers overall. This move greatly benefits all parties involved.”

Clement aided in Byars|Wright’s discovery and pursuit of B2B. He believes the combination of Renee’s successful track-record, strong customer focus, and reach throughout northern Alabama will prove to be a catalyst for growth.

“I’m excited about this partnership and the potential that it holds for our combined customers,” said Wenzler. “We recognized that pooling our resources and capabilities would enable us to address the customers’ needs for trusted providers of both the employee benefits and property and casualty segments of business insurance.”

Byars|Wright now has six offices. Wenzler and Traynom will continue to operate from the Decatur office, located at 205 Oak Street Northeast, Decatur, Alabama 35601, while serving customers throughout the Southeast.

“I’m looking forward to building upon our shared relationships and am excited to take this next step with Byars|Wright,” continued Wenzler. “I believe that, together, we are poised for continuous progress and prosperity in future.”
